Senna Leaf is helpful in cleansing colon and reducing fat levels in the body. It is used in the treatment of constipation that is caused by conditions like slowing of intestines (for example, diabetic autonomic neuropathy), use of constipating medications, prolonged bed rest or hospitalization, or irritable bowel syndrome. It helps increase activity of intestines to move out stool quickly. Senne Leaf has been used for centuries as a laxative. It is high in sennosides and anthraquinones glycosides including rhein and aloe-emodin, and acts a safe and efficacious laxative. Its use is also recommended against general and acute constipation, to empty the bowels before X-rays, before and after abdominal operations and for disorders in which defecation with a soft stool is required.
