Coleus Forskohlii or otherwise known as Plectranthus barbatus and Indian Coleus is a perennial plant native to tropical regions of Asia and Africa. In Kenya the leaves of the plant have been traditionally used as toilet paper. Ayurvedic medicine lists the coleus species as treatment for various ailments of the urinary tract, spasmodic pain and even heart disease. In the extract of the C. forskohlii is the compound forskolin, which has found wide usage in body building and weight loss circles. It is supposed to increase thyroid hormone production, increasing the metabolic rate. Further data suggests that forskolin may also be responsible in increasing cAMP levels and associated metabolic activities, such as stabilization of insulin levels, relaxation of smooth muscles and promotion of thyroid functions.

Gelatin constitutes the shells of pharmaceutical capsules in order to make them easier to swallow. Gelatin is a translucent, colourless, brittle, nearly tasteless solid substance, extracted from the collagen inside animals' connective tissue. It has been commonly used as a gelling agent in food, pharmaceutical, photography, and cosmetic manufacturing.

Guggul Extract- Guggul is a flowering plant in the genus Commiphora and family Burseraceae. It is also scientifically known as Commiphora wightii or Mukul myrrh tree. It is most commonly cultivated in Pakistan and India. Guggul extracts are used commonly in incense and perfumes because its fragrance is similar to that of myrrh. It is also used in ancient system of Indian medicine for treatment of heart ailments. Modern research has also confirmed its beneficial effects on heart, so it is now also being used in modern medicine and some nutritional supplements. Due to overuse, however, the Guggul is becoming scarce and the World Conservation Union (IUCN) has enlisted it as endangered species in its Red Data List.

Magnesium Stearate is coommonly used as a filling agent in the manufacture of capsules and tablets, such as vitamins, the source of this ingredient is typically bovine. However, there is an increasing number of vegetarian options in which the product specifically indicates it contains magnesium stearate from vegetable sources.
